Presenter Bio
Liz Parker Garcia is a 2011 graduate of Hollins' MFA in Children's Literature program. She recently earned a PhD from the University of Tennessee where she majored in Education and Literacy Studies with an emphasis in Children's and YA Literature.
Dhonielle Clayton is a New York Times bestselling author. She's written a myriad of books such as The Marvellers series, The Belles series, The Mirror: Shattered Midnight. She is the co-author of Blackout and Whiteout, The Rumor Game, and the Tiny Pretty Things duology, a Netflix original series. She hails from the Washington DC suburbs on the Maryland side. She taught secondary school for several years and is a former elementary and middle school librarian. She is COO of the nonprofit We Need Diverse Books and President of Cake Creative, an IP story kitchen.
Uma Krishnaswami's most recent titles are Threads of Peace: How Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Changed the World (Caitlyn Dlouhy Books/Atheneum) and Two at the Top: A Shared Dream of Everest (Groundwood Books, illustrated by Christopher Corr). Uma lives in Victoria, BC, Canada.
