Individual Presentation or Panel Title

An Argumentative Analysis of Vaccinations and Children

Abstract

The decision and the choice to vaccinate a child is a deeply personal and controversial decision. It has the potential to set up a history of health care for the child. Many people speak in favor of vaccination however there are still significant numbers that still strongly oppose vaccinations including my own family. In order to study this controversy this paper will use an argumentative analysis while researching all sides of this issue. This essay will look closely at the rhetorical techniques and sources of support and opposition of the vaccination debate and then will argue a new course of action that opens the vaccination debate to an open dialogue. This is a necessary subject to further research because this debate affects the future of all children. There is a stigma attached to being un-vaccinated and those children will feel the effects of that stigma so if there is a middle ground that works with both sides it is necessary to find.
