Abstract
Handle with Care is a young adult novel written from the perspective of a teenager, Hannah Howard, who lives with epidermolysis bullosa, a rare, genetic skin disorder. Despite the challenges of life with such a difficult condition, she is determined to live as normal a life as possible and to make her life count. One day she learns about the difficulties facing garment workers on the other side of the world⎯ dangerous factories, low wages, and excessive hours⎯ and sets out to raise awareness about the millions of workers struggling to survive every day. Even though she cannot change her disease, she wants to make a difference in their lives.
