Abstract
This thesis is a non-fiction work, exploring the fifty-four year journey to find my birth family.
I was born and adopted in the Mid-Ohio Valley in the 1960's during a time that all adoption records were sealed and unavailable to adoptees or their families.
My first two attempts were thwarted by Social Services and the local courthouse, respectively.
My third and final attempt was made after the mother who raised me announced,
"I know you still feel lost. It's time for you to find your people."
With the assistance of AncestryDNA in 2017, I received some surprising results.
