Abstract
Dealing with themes of loneliness and love, fear and trust, this collection contains three short bedtime stories for adults. In “The Fisherman’s Wife,” an evening storm brings together an unlikely group of women into the house of the enigmatic Mrs. Scott, revealing their secrets, fears, and longings. “The Sand Dragon” incorporates magical realism into a suspenseful tale of a soldier struggling with secrets in the aftermath of a friend’s death. “Ophelia,” the most whimsical of the three stories, deals with a fisherman whose life is changed when he finds a baby in a storm.
