Abstract
This study aims to gain a better understanding of what family businesses need to do, or can do, in order to become a sustainable business that survives across generations. In order to do so, the experiences of different individuals involved in family businesses in Mexico are analyzed. The data found during this study is separated in three major themes: communication, succession, and professionalization. Providing a more in detail exposure to the different aspects of family businesses. The goal is that all this information can become a tool for other family businesses in their journey towards the success of their organization throughout generations.
