When Speaking of the South and Her Children
Abstract
In this project it is my intent to introduce to the audience different characters from the Bible Belt South through poetry and music. Some pieces will be performed while others will be read. Some will be accompanied by music while others will evoke the voices of those they embody. I owe most of who I am to the people and the places I call home. This collection of new work is an attempt to pay homage to and to critique all that have influenced me as a spoken word artist.
