Abstract
"Fracturing Trauma" explores the utilization of queer modalities to redefine and shape masculinity in performance for gay Black men. This research delves into ancestral memories, examining areas of trauma to uncover resilience and adaptability within the context of concert dance. Additionally, it investigates my personal journey as a symbol of human revelation. The study aims to understand the marginalization, sexualization, and transmission of trauma and violence across generations of gay Black men while seeking to unite and reclaim narratives of shame and self-blame to foster emotional resilience.
